Dr. Will Spanbock is our full time Veterinarian and Practice Owner here at Good Ground Animal Hospital! He completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Colorado at Boulder and went on to earn his Masters in Environmental Resource Management & Administration from Antioch University. After completing a clinic rotation at Oregon State University, Dr. Spanbock graduated in 2007 from Ross University, School of Veterinary Medicine with a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine with honors, and the “Large Animal Surgery Team” Award. He was an Associate Veterinarian at the Eastport Animal Hospital from 2008-2015, and joined our team part time in 2014. In November 2015, he decided to come over full time! Dr. Spanbock was also voted two years in a row by Dan’s paper “Best of the Best Veterinarian" on the South Fork. Even though his main focus is cats and dogs, he also has experience in treating small animals such as rabbits, ferrets, guinea pigs and rodents. When Dr. Spanbock isn’t taking care of your pets, he’s either catching some waves on his surfboard, traveling with his wife Bria, his three children Kayla, Brady, and Hannah, or relaxing at home with his Labrador Retriever Willow & Golden Retrievers Dune, Oakley & River!
Dr. Heather Swanson used to work here as one of our licensed technicians in 2011. She continued her education by dedicating herself to the profession. She went off to Ross University to become a veterinarian in 2015. She completed her clinical rotations at Cornell University, & graduated as a Licensed Veterinarian! Additionally, after completing vet school, she attended The Chi Institute where she became a certified Veterinary Acupuncturist and a Certified Veterinary Chinese Herbalist. Dr. Swanson excels in her efforts to inform and educate our clients, all while providing the best care for your furry family members. If you need to travel internationally with your pet, she is also an USDA Accredited Veterinarian! When Dr. Swanson isn't treating your pets, she's either doing yoga, traveling or hiking and taking care of her Boston Terrier named Phoebe, her chocolate Labrador Retriever Noodle, and Boston the Boxer at home!
Jennifer Lipira is our Hospital Administrator at Good Ground Animal Hospital. She has been here since August 2011, and is very passionate about developing and supporting high quality veterinary healthcare. Her compassion and empathy has been a cornerstone to her building trust and relationships with our clients. Jen feels that your pet’s health is our first priority and ensures that when your pet is here, they will be treated like family. She is here to put you at ease and answer any of your questions! When Jennifer isn’t taking care of your pets, she enjoys watching movies and going to the beach with her family and doggy Patton!
Billie is our licensed veterinary technician here at Good Ground Animal Hospital. She has been working in the veterinary field for over 20 years! She specialized in emergency medicine, working at various emergency veterinary hospitals, but has switched over to small practice medicine. She came to us full time in June 2016 and we are so lucky to have her! Billie is full of knowledge and expertise when it comes to helping your pets, and is ready and willing to assist the doctors in whatever situation may arise. She is energetic and always there to offer a helping hand. Her hard work and dedication to a small animal practice makes her a great addition to our team! When Billie isn't taking care of your pets, she’s relaxing at home with her husband, 2 daughters, and playing with her 5 rescue dogs Scout, Lucy, Meatball, Charlie and Homer!
Jeffry joined our team October 2015. Since then he completed his animal science course and hopes to one day become a licensed veterinary technician. Jeff is full of positive energy, and his hard work and dedication to our small animal practice makes him a great member on our team. He is our dog and cat whisperer and your pet can always find a friend in Jeff. When Jeff isn't taking care of your pets, he's either eating ice cream, riding his electric skateboard or hanging out at home with his Miniature Goldendoodle Malcolm!
In April 2021 Cassie started her first position in veterinary medicine here as a Veterinary Assistant. Cassie is very energetic about being here for you and your pets needs. Our clients enjoy her positive attitude and find her very personable and helpful. In her free time she enjoys playing volleyball, relaxing at the beach with her husband and daughter, and spending time with her Corgi Piglet and her cat Tiny Mom.
For our Clients who remember Paige, she is back on staff as a Veterinary Assistant! She rejoined our team in July 2023. She loves being able to help our patients so they can live happy and healthy lives. She brings a joyful energy to ease our patients into being more comfortable. In her free time Paige takes care of her many different farm animals including goats, sheep and horses.
Bryanna has been apart of our team for over 7 years. She began her journey at the hospital when she was in high school and knew quickly she wanted to continue her education in veterinary medicine. She is currently in her final years of Veterinarian school at Long Island University and we are very excited to see what the future holds for her. When Bryanna isn't in school or working she gets to spend her time with her boyfriend, her two cats Winnie and Walley and her dog Remy.
Justina joined our team in August 2022. She is currently attending a Veterinary Technician program to continue her education in veterinary medicine. She is very caring and has such a great passion for animals especially our geriatric and feral feline patients. When she is not at the hospital she is reading, playing with her cats Luna, Loki, Lucky & Delilah and also taking care of her outdoor feral feline friends.
Monica joined our team in June 2021. She has always wanted to work with animals and we believe her compassion and outstanding client communication will be very helpful and inviting at the front desk. She has also been making sure that clients stay up to date with our latest news and informational posts via our website and social media. Send us photos of your pets to be featured on our Facebook and Instagram pages. Monica and her boyfriend Isaias enjoy training their dog Sosa, playing with their cat Midnight and she enjoys doing her own nail art.
Jessica joined our team in September 2022. This is her first position in veterinary medicine but has been in customer service previously. Her love for animals has driven her to a new career with animals in all shapes and sizes. She is eager to answer your questions about services for your furry friends may need. Jessica takes the time to get to know all of our Clients and each of their family members. Jess enjoys spending her time with her dogs- Natsuki, Niko & Muneca and her cats Gekyume & Mochi Sky.
Dallas joined our team in October 2023. Her constant positive energy is very welcoming and comforting to our Clients and patients. She enjoys being on the front line where she can be of direct help to patients and families, easing their anxieties and making their experience at our hospital a positive one. When she is not at work she loves spending time with her family and pets Barbus and Jango.
Daniela started here in May 2024. This is her first position in the veterinary field and already she has gained so much knowledge. She is no stranger to customer service and already many clients compliment her kindness and calmness when handling questions or concerns. In her free time she enjoys drawing, listening to music and hanging out with her two dogs Oreo & Luna and her parrot named Dulce.
Kiri has been a permanent resident house cat here since 2011. She can be spicy at times but in her older age has become quite gentle. She is usually sleeping in her office, supervising the waiting room or examining the exam rooms for any hands that are free for some petting. Our entire staff love her so much.
